Catch the live performance of this sensational Taiwanese singer who made a huge impact in China using only his relatively simple, student folk style songs and down-to-earth lyrics. Luo is of Hakka ancestry and was originally a pharmacist but dabbled with music during the late 70s. He is neither a Mandopop star nor a rocker; in fact, his genre of music defies any classification and is heavily influenced by his native Taiwanese culture. His main pulling power lies not with his lyrical style that resembles a conversation, but with the meanings incorporated within. His songs touch on issues of life, attitude, social responsibility, and the political problems of both China and Taiwan, laced with dark humour.
