Windows Hackathons presents Discover MY Apps 2014 for Visit Malaysia Year 2014. Open to Startups and Students as well, the annual Windows Hackathons returns and this time it’s working in collaboration with the Malaysian Tourism & Culture Ministry in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2014.

Microsoft is looking for Windows 8 Store Apps that showcases what Malaysia has to offer to not only tourists, but also Malaysians. Feel free to take advantage of sensors in devices like tablets to bring your App(s) to life! Also, the various API(s) that are available at your disposal.


You do not have to publish your App(s) during the Hackathon – but you’re advised to do so as one of the criteria to claim your prize(s) later if you win is tied to the publication of your App(s). There will be a separate post-hackathon prize-giving ceremony and press conference that will help you highlight your App(s). Therefore you are encouraged to publish your App(s) as soon as possible after the hackathon. To assist you in Apps publication, there will be Microsoft engineers at the hackathon to help you.
